North Country Vitals is northern New York’s premiere source for health care news and discussion, written by the community for the community. How can I get involved?
That’s the spirit! North Country Vitals was designed to get the community involved, and we do our best to make it as easy as possible for you to join the discussion. There are a few different ways you can interact with North Country Vitals:
- Contribute a Story — We are always accepting posts from members of the public, and you don’t have to be an experienced writer to get involved. Stories can be about anything related to health and wellness, as long as they educate, inform and encourage discussion among readers. For more information or to get started, click here!
- Leave a message in the North Country Vitals Forum — If you want to start a discussion but aren’t ready to contribute a story yet, our community forum is the place for you! Create your own topic or reply to threads created by others. Get started by clicking here.
- Leave a Comment — Perhaps the easiest way to get involved is to leave a comment after reading a post. Simply scroll to the bottom of the post, create a profile and leave your comments!
I need help writing my first story…
If you’re having trouble writing a story, don’t get discouraged! Browse other stories for ideas and write what you are comfortable with. Posts on North Country Vitals do not have to be perfect to be published — our editorial team will scan them for spelling, grammar, and can even offer suggestions to make your story more compelling. Who determines what gets published?
North Country Vitals has a small editorial staff that monitors and reviews submitted posts to determine what should be published and what should not. If your post complies with our publishing rules and guidelines, it will most likely be approved and published within a couple of days of being submitted. If your post violates any of the publishing guidelines, it will either be sent back to you for editing or denied for publishing. If this happens, you’ll receive an email from North Country Vitals to let you know why the post was denied or what specifically you need to fix.
We do our best to review posts in a timely manner, and you shouldn’t ever have to wait more than two weeks to hear about the status of your post.
What happens to my post once it is published?
Good question! It’s important for you to know that anything you post on North Country Vitals is published on the World Wide Web. This means that the whole world can access and read your comments, forum entries and posts — not just local visitors. With that being said, make sure you are comfortable with the information choose to publish before you submit it to North Country Vitals.
Once published, your posts to North Country Vitals may also be shared on our social media pages. We do this so we can get you as many readers as possible! By default, when you post to North Country Vitals, you give us the rights to publish and share your content. If you have concerns about how or where posts are shared, please contact us and let us know before you post.
Can I remove my post after it has been published?
Absolutely. If you decide that you no longer want your post on North Country Vitals and you cannot remove it yourself, contact us to request a removal. We will do our best to take it down as quickly as possible. However: It is important to remember that once your post is published, it may never totally disappear from the Internet. We can guarantee we will remove it from our site, but we are not responsible if it continues to appear elsewhere in cyberspace. Just remember, the Internet is a big place.
How can I edit my profile (biography, photo, username, etc.?)
