Free Worksite Wellness Series to be Offered by Adopting Healthy Habits Coalition

Sessions Will Be Held the First Wednesday of Each Month From March to June

Is your organization interested in increasing productivity and lowering health insurance costs? How about reducing absenteeism and attracting highly qualified, motivated staff?

These are just some of the reasons so many worksites both locally and nationally are adopting wellness programs. Whether your business has never had a worksite wellness program and wants to get started, or you have a program in place but need new ways to stay motivated, the Adopting Healthy Habits Community Coalition can help.

worksite wellnessWe work to make the North Country a healthier place to live, work and play by helping local groups, community leaders, and organizations create policies, practices, and environments to make healthy lifestyles the easy choice.

Join us the first Wednesday of each month this spring for a series of workshops that will tackle all aspects of worksite wellness. Topics will include: creating buy-in, improving your facilitation skills, data collection and evaluation, how to write a great press release, marketing your wellness activities, increasing employee satisfaction and productivity, and adopting and sustaining a comprehensive wellness policy.

Each free workshop will include an array of local speakers, take-home resources, a delicious healthy lunch, and an activity break led by a community fitness leader.

The worksite wellness series sponsor is Fidelis Care, a local health plan that provides quality, affordable health insurance to more than 1.6 million New York State residents.

“As a mission-driven health plan, our dedication to help individuals and families in the North Country access quality, affordable health coverage is a priority, and one that makes our partnership with the Adopting Healthy Habits Community Coalition so important,” said Fidelis Care Chief Marketing Officer Pam Hassen. “Fidelis Care representatives will be on-site throughout the worksite wellness series to help residents learn more about their coverage options for themselves and their families.”

All workshops will be held from 12-2 p.m. at Cornell Cooperative Extension. Guests are welcome to sign up for more than one workshop, but registration is required in advance as space is limited.
