Samples to include cheeses, maple products, meats, vegetables and more

taste-testing fair

Fort Drum families, servicemen, and retirees are invited enjoy a “taste” of the North Country by joining Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County in a Fort Drum Commissary Taste-Testing Fair!

The fair will feature locally grown and produced foods. As part of a Cornell Cooperative Extension Food Hub and local foods initiative, farmers from across the North County will be showcasing their value-added products. Participants can be part of the judging process by indicating their preferred product, and many of the products will also be available for sale.

Popular products will have a chance to become permanent items stocked in the deli. Come taste the many flavored goat cheeses, cheese curd, Chevre cheese, maple products including vinaigrette, maple meat rubs, maple cookies, pickled cabbage sauce, beef jerky, meat sticks, sausages, honey, applesauce and so much more! This is a unique opportunity to meet and support your local farmer.

To participate, join us from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on November 17 at the Fort Drum Commissary, 10730C Enduring Freedom Drive, Fort Drum, NY 13602.
