Are you looking for a way to improve health and wellness and boost morale in your workplace, committee or organization? Well, look no further!
The Adopting Healthy Habits Community Coalition is hosting a “Worksite Wellness Workshop” from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 31. Join them at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County, 203 N. Hamilton St. in Watertown, to learn how to start your own worksite wellness committee and make a difference in your workplace!
You’ll hear successes and challenges from other local organizations who have implemented worksite wellness policies and learn tips and tricks on the following topics:
- Writing a comprehensive wellness policy
- Ideas for healthy snacks for staff
- Motivating staff through regular physical activity challenges
- How to create buy-in with staff and avoid becoming the “food police”
- Gaining support from leadership
Attendees are encouraged to bring a healthy dish to share, or they may also bring their own lunch.
The Adopting Health Habits Community Coalition is a grassroots initiative that aims to make the North Country a healthier place to live, work and play. Its members collaborate to find ways to make healthy choices easier by supporting infrastructure and cultural changes that support an innate desire for wellness.
