Samaritan Medical Center will be hosting an American Red Cross blood drive on Monday, August 14th from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The drive will be held in Samaritan’s Conference Room 2B on the second floor.
“Each day, we get a first-hand glimpse of the need for blood,” said Tony Marra, director of Laboratory Services at the hospital. “We host 4-5 drives per year because the need is always present, but the summer months present a challenge — higher demand for blood, lower donation rates. It’s important for people to remember that one pint of blood can save up to three lives.”
Mr. Marra said the hospital’s goal is to collect 25 pints at this blood drive, enough to save up to 75 lives.
Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are also welcome. Appointments may be made by calling or emailing Mr. Marra at 315-785-4506 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
